Welcome to the Canadian Woodworking eNewsletter

As we head into the new year, all of us at Canadian Woodworking would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support throughout 2008. We wish all of you a healthy, happy and prosperous 2009.

If you've been thinking of adding to or upgrading your existing shop machinery you'll be pleased to hear that Steel City Tool Works has extended its 'Instant Rebates Program' through to April 30, 2009. Its a great opportunity to get top quality machinery at great pricing.

General has announced a new, innovative adjustable height 15" band saw. By means of a crank handle you can adjust the height to mount blades from 93 ½" to 106", allowing for a maximum re-saw capacity of up to 12". It has a lot of other great features as well.

A lot of woodworkers, particularly furniture makers, don't need large miter saws with mega cutting capacitates. What they do need is a high qaulity saw that enables them to make precise bevel and miter cuts. The new 8 1/2" Hitachi sliding compound miter saws are compact, fully featured, and built to last.

Cyclone dust collectors are attracting a lot of interest because of their high efficiency. The problem with many of them is that they require high ceilings, often in excess of 8 feet. The new 2HP and 3HP low profile two stage cyclones from Busy Bee Tools solve the problem quite nicely.

You'll also want to read about the new "Dual Random Orbital Sander" from Metabo. It delivers from 8,400 to 22,000 OPM at an adjustable orbit size of either 1/8" for fine finishing or 1/4" for stock removal. Sweet!

There are lots of other goodies in this month's eNewsletter, so, read on!

Steel City Extends its Instant Rebate Program

Steel City Tool Works has extended its Instant Rebates program, originally slated to conclude at the end of 2008, through April 30, 2009. According to Scott Box, Steel City’s president, "Like everyone else, woodworkers have been forced to deal with tough economic times. By extending our Instant Rebates program, we’re simply trying to make it a little easier for our users to purchase the tools that help fuel their passion for woodworking."

Instant Rebate savings, available on  select machines, range from $50 on dust collectors to up to $200 on shapers. And you earn those savings right at your Steel City dealer. There are no forms to fill out and no waiting for your rebate check. What Scott Box likes to call “instant gratification."

And all Steel City woodworking tools are backed by the company’s standard Five-Year Warranty.
