You will notice in this eNewsletter that we have expanded some of our sections.

For instance, our Featured Product Review now has a link to an entire review section. When you get to that part of the eNewsletter, simply click on one of the buttons in the right margin and you will be taken to either a complete list of product reviews, or just those that have been added since last issue. It’s a great place to find out more about a tool or machine before making a purchase.

Also, in our Gallery section you can now see additional reader projects by clicking on the link to the side of that section. Many woodworkers are telling us that they are on the look-out for new ideas to inspire their own creations. Well, this section is for you. Click on the link that connects to our readers work and you will have access to 1,018 photos in 185 different galleries from 63 Members. While you’re there you may even want to upload some of your own work to inspire others.

Enjoy

Milwaukee Multi Base Router Kit
Complimenting their popular BodyGrip® fixed base router, Milwaukee Electric Tool introduces two new fixed and plunge base router kits complete with 1-3/4 or 2-1/4 HP motors designed for high-end woodworking and production environments.

The new plunge router base features high-precision components for smooth plunge action and ergonomic tactile grips oriented to provide superior comfort. A clear sub-base provides added visibility when routing along the work surface.

The fixed router base, which features an accurate linear depth adjustment system and a patented above-the-table depth adjustment system, is ideal for router table applications. The popular BodyGrip design features a comfortable over-molded rubber grip with an adjustable hand strap to allow for left and right-handed operation, and two over-molded palm-grip side handles for superior comfort, maneuverability and control.

The 5615-24 kit features a 1-3/4 HP, 11 amp, 24,000 RPM Milwaukee motor, the exclusive linear depth adjustment system and 1/4" and 1/2" premium self-releasing collets.

The 5616-24 kit includes a 2-1/4 HP, 13 amp, 10,000-24,000 RPM Milwaukee motor and an exclusive motor contamination shield designed to minimize damage and maximize airflow. It features 36 distinct speed settings, soft-start technology and electronic motor feedback circuitry.

Leigh Industries to Announce New Core Products
If you are an avid router user, then you've undoubtedly heard of (or you own) one or more Leigh Jigs - the DR4 or D1600 dovetail jigs, or the FMT frame mortise and tenon jig.

Virtually everyone who has reviewed these products has rated them as best on the market.

Dare we expect more from Leigh Industries? Apparently so. Matthew Grisley, president of Leigh Industries, has just announced that there will be "four amazing new core products" coming out of their Port Coquitlam, BC, plant to mark Leigh's 25th year serving the woodworking community.

We'll bring you the details on these new products in an upcoming issue of Canadian Woodworking Magazine, and in this newsletter.

Posichuck Lathe Chuck

PosiChuck Tools, out of Roseneath, ON, is pleased to announce its self-centering, self adjusting lathe chuck.

The cast aluminum Posichuck is drilled and tapped so that you can bolt it to any 3" faceplate.

The tapered square recess accepts stock from 1" to just over 1 3/4" square. Just put your stock into the square recess, and then adjust the tailstock tension to secure your stock in place. Priced at $48.20

Forrest Concave Face Blade
Forrest Manufacturing’s unique hollow-concave face grind produces chip-free cuts on both sides of melamine board, one of the most common products used in kitchen cabinetmaking shops, but also one of the most difficult to cut without chipping.

It's ideal for all types of particle board laminates, and for cutting foam core moldings.

The plate is hand straightened and has exceptional perimeter concentricity and side run out. Tipped with corrosion resistant, C-4 micrograin carbide teeth and sharpened with specially-made diamond grit grinding wheels, the Concave Face is 40% stronger and lasts up to 300% longer between sharpening than other blades used for particle board laminates.

The Concave Face blade comes in metric and standard sizes with a choice of 48, 50, and 60 teeth, and 30 mm, 5/8", and 1" center hole sizes. The 48- and 60-teeth blades are ideal for cutting flake board laminates. For polystyrene foam core moldings, the 50- and 60-teeth metric and 48- and 60-teeth standard blades are recommended.

Veritas Left Hand Iron Edge-Trimming Plane
Last fall Lee Valley Tools (Veritas) introduced a new iron edge-trimming plane, which we reviewed in the Nov 2006 eNewsletter.

The thoughtful folks at Veritas have now introduced a version of this highly functional plane for left handed woodworkers.

Of course, you don't have to be a lefty to justify buying this plane for your collection. If you have a board with grain running in two different directions, and only one reference face (such as on molding), then you'll be glad to have a 'matched set' of trimming planes.

Buy the left edge plane or the set and save about 17% on the regular price until May 31.
