JacPac CO2 Power System

If you plan to frame a house or two, then a conventional air compressor is the way to go. You'll need all the compressed air you can get.

But for small jobs around the shop or house, or for those occasional small repair jobs on site where it would be nice to have an air nailer on hand, lugging a 60 pound air compressor, hose, and extension cord is a bit overkill.

Ah! Canadian ingenuity. The JacPac CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) Power System is a devilishly simple device that puts the air compressor in its place - in a bottle to be exact.

A patented universal regulator sits at the core of the JacPac. You simply fill the supplied aluminum cylinder with CO2 gas (check under "Game & Game Supplies" in the Yellow Pages), attach the air hose and the cylinder to the regulator, connect your pneumatic tool to the air hose, and you're ready to go. There is a handy belt clip on the regulator so that you can hand the unit on your work belt.

There is a knob on the regulator to adjust air supply. And you don't have to worry about CO2 - it's a safe gas. What you will notice is that the cylinder gets very cold when you are using the gas.

We hooked the JacPac up to a 23 gauge pin nailer and went to work. Over 350 shots before we needed to re-charge the cylinder. We also tried the JacPac with a 15 gauge nailer. Piece of cake. Cost of re-charging the 9oz cylinder was $9.

We were very impressed with the JacPac. It was easy to set up and performed flawlessly. No noise, light, and easy to tote around the shop. For the home handyman or the small shop owner this is an excellent alternative to a 'portable' air compressor.
