This is a clever device that will be of special interest to
anyone who uses (and loves) their hand
planes. Most of us likely use a screwdriver to remove the cap
iron screw. Unless the screwdriver tip fits into the cap iron
screw slot perfectly, you run the risk of damaging the screw.
Worse, the screwdriver can slip only to scratch the plane blade.
The Lee Valley Plane Screwdriver will work on just about every
cap iron screw on the market (including the old Stanley and
Record planes).
This tool is well made, looks great, and at just under $15 is a
great investment to protect your woodworking planes.
