"We are starting at different origins and using different methods, but we are all on the road to understanding beauty. Each of us brings our own piece of the puzzle.

Some of us find inspiration in nature, others in the clean line of industry, and some find beauty in the relationship between the material and the maker.

As wondering as these techniques may seem, they all result in knowledge - of ourselves and the contexts in which we live."

Stan Hickey, Graduate, 2007 class
The Crafts & Design Program at the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (Toronto) and has been setting the standard for crafts education in Canada since 1967.

A close connection with the arts community, award-winning faculty, fully-equipped studios and a renowned curriculum all work to help students develop a critical sense of design and outstanding technical skills.

The three-year program offers intensive, hands-on training in four core studio areas: furniture, ceramics, glass and textiles. These are complemented with additional studios in design, drawing and photography.
