6" diameter clear acrylic plate improves control and stability

Medina, MN – Woodworkers and DIYers who like the easy handling of a compact router but miss the control and stability of a handled base now can enjoy the benefits of both with a new sub-base from Rockler Woodworking and Hardware.

The Compact Router Sub-Base with Handles has a 6" diameter plate that provides a larger surface area for increased stability and ergonomic handles that enhance control by allowing two-handed routing. Made from 1/4" thick clear acrylic, the plate also offers excellent visibility of the cutting area.

"Compact routers have earned a place in many shops because of their versatility," said Steve Krohmer, Rockler's vice president of merchandising and product development. "This new sub-base extends that versatility even further, providing greater stability for applications that might otherwise require a larger, handled router."

The plate's stepped center opening fits standard guide bushing inserts for easy template or pattern routing, and the plate is predrilled for quick mounting to the fixed bases of the most popular Bosch, DeWalt and Porter-Cable compact routers.

The Compact Router Sub-Base with Handles (59811) is priced at $29.99 and can be purchased at Rockler.com or at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores nationwide, as well as through the Rockler catalog.
