Why:
Join more than 300 delegates at the 2019 Supporting Women in Trades Conference. Over two days, participants will hear about current initiatives for women in the trades and promising practices among change-makers from across Canada’s skilled trades communities. Participants will help inform a much-needed national strategy for the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in trades careers. Canada is facing an even bigger labour shortage in some of the top ten Red Seal occupations in the next 5 years. Tapping into the populations that remain under-represented is key. Women make up 51% of the Canadian population yet only represent approximately 4% of the workforce in trades traditionally considered as male dominated.
