Arbortech Launches the New TURBOShaft

PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA – May 2015 - Arbortech is introducing an exciting addition to its successful range of powercarving angle grinder attachments … the new Arbortech TURBOShaft. After the extremely successful introduction of the TURBOPlane in 2012 and the MiniTURBO in 2013 Arbortech is now releasing the TURBOShaft.

The TURBOshaft is designed as a freehand, fine sculpting & boring tool which attaches to any 100 or 115mm Angle Grinder. The 80mm long shaft has a diameter of 20mm and is fitted with replaceable carbide teeth, giving excellent performance and durability even in the hardest timbers. The adjustable depth gauge makes it easy to quickly set your cutting depth. The planing action at the tip of the shaft is perfect for deep and narrow profiles, detailed sculpting, signwork and template work. The TURBOShaft is one of the most versatile tools in the Arbortech range and easily gets into places other tools simply cannot reach.

Arbortech’s CEO, Kevin Inkster said: “I always get excited when we release a new tool that either changes the way we work wood or allows us to do tasks otherwise difficult or seemingly impossible to do. From the moment I tried the first prototype Turboshaft, I knew we had another winner. It really has to be seen in action to fully appreciate its ease of use and to understand the range of new possibilities.“

“We designed this tool to take the ease of powered freehand shaping into confined areas that previous tools couldn’t reach. The fast planing action at the tip seems to magically remove material while the narrow 20mm shaft allows it to plunge deep into the workpiece, run against templates or guides, or be used freehand for detail sculpting.“ The TURBOShaft will be presented at the Brisbane timber & working with wood exhibition and will available for sale in Australia late May. Launch date in North America and Europe will be in September, 2015. Included: TURBOShaft fitted with tungsten Carbide cutters Adjustable depth gauge M10/M14 brass adapter Torx Key.
