Brushless Drywall Screwgun Allows Drywall Carpenters to Cut their Power Cords

DeWALT Brushless Drywall Screwgun

Mississauga, ON  – New to its 20V MAX* line of power tools, DEWALT announces the launch of the DCF620 20V MAX* brushless lithium-ion drywall screwgun with Extreme Runtime (XR™), designed for drywall carpenters looking to cut their power cords. The new drywall screwgun is ideal for both residential and commercial drywall hanging applications – driving screws into both wood and steel studs. “Performance and productivity are hands-down two of the most important things to drywall users when looking for a new screwgun,” says Greg Weston, Marketing Director, DEWALT Canada. “Many drywall professionals have been hesitant to switch to a cordless screwgun solution, because previous offerings have required them to make too many trade-offs. Other cordless options were usually significantly slower than a corded offering, had limited run-time, were heavier, and were a lot more expensive. I’m pleased to say that our new 20V MAX* brushless screwgun eliminates virtually all of these trade-offs.”

The new DEWALT XRTM cordless screwgun features a DEWALT-built brushless motor, which delivers up to a full day of runtime on two fully charged 2.0Ah battery packs . The DCF620 will be available with either two 2.0Ah (DCF620D2) or two 4.0Ah (DCF620M2) XRTM high capacity battery packs with fuel gauges. For users already invested in the 20V MAX* system, the screwgun will also be available as a bare unit (DCF620B).

In addition to the convenience and time savings associated with not dragging a cord, the DCF620 cordless screwgun also offers users the speed and performance they’ve come to expect with a speed of 4,400 RPM.  The screwgun packs a high level of performance in a small, lightweight package, weighing only 3.4 lbs with a 2.0Ah battery pack, and measuring only 8-3/4” in head length (both shorter and lighter than DEWALT’s leading corded screwgun offering).

Other productivity features include an adjustable driving depth nosecone that locks to the tool, a trigger lock-on switch, bright LED light with 20-second delay, and a belt clip.

A Collated Screw Auto-Feed Magazine Attachment (DCF6201) will also be available for users looking to drive collated strips of screws. Collated screw systems allow users to work faster, while minimizing dropped/wasted screws. The DCF620 cordless screwgun can be converted to and from an auto feed system with this new DCF6201 magazine attachment  without using a tool. The attachment is capable of driving collated screws up to 2-1/4” in length and is compatible with most major screw strip brands on the market.

The new DCF620 20V MAX* lithium-ion drywall screwgun with Extreme Runtime will be available anywhere DEWALT products are sold this Spring.  The DCF620 is sold as a bare unit (DCF620B: $149.00), kitted with two 20V MAX* lithium-ion 2.0Ah batteries (DCF620D2: $249.00), or two 4.0Ah battery (DCF620M2: $289.00). The new screwgun will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee. The collated magazine attachment (DCF6201: $89.00) will be sold separately.

*Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.
