Designed for Performance and Versatility

Mississauga, Ontario - (November 3, 2014) – Today, DEWALT announces the launch of its new 20V MAX* Lithium Ion reciprocating saw (DCS387). The reciprocating saw is ideal for remodelers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, HVAC/mechanical contractors and general contractors who cut through a variety of materials including wood, PVC and various types of metal including studs, conduit, and steel pipe. The compact configuration of the DCS387 allows users to make controlled overhead cuts and cuts in tight spaces such as in between studs, under sinks, and in corners.

“At 2.5’’ shorter than our DCS380 cordless reciprocating saw, the DCS387 not only allows the user to get into tighter areas, it also provides more control than the DCS380,” said Dave Veprek, product manager, DEWALT.

DEWALT’s exclusive keyless 4-Position Blade Clamp gives the user the ability to orient the tool according to the type of cut they are making, the powerful 4-pole motor and the 1-⅛-inch stroke length allow for fast cutting (0-2,900 SPM) in a variety of materials. The fixed pivoting shoe provides leverage for different applications and users will appreciate the ergonomic handle with soft grip for comfort while cutting, as well as the tool’s balance of performance and compact design (14.5” long; 5.0 lbs). Other features include the variable speed switch for control during cutting applications, an LED light to illuminate the cutting surface and work area.

The new DCS387 20V MAX* Lithium Ion compact reciprocating saw will be available anywhere DEWALT products are sold in October 2014. The DCS387 is sold as a bare unit (DCS387B: $159.00) or kitted (DCS387P1: $289.00). The kitted version comes with a kit bag and DCB205 5.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery and charger. The new compact reciprocating saw will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee.

*Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.
