Do I need to LOG-IN?

If you are a subscriber to our print or digital magazine you need to log-in to access your full online library. Otherwise, when viewing any online issue online you will be prompted to log-in after viewing 20 pages.

There are two ways that you can log-in.

1.  You can log-in by clicking on the LOG-IN link on the top right of the home page:

Either of these links will open the LOG IN window:

You can log-in using your order number, customer number and postal code, or your email address and password.

Note: If you encounter any problems logging in, or you cannot remember your email address or password, please  contact our customer care team by email or by calling 1-800-204-1773. 

After you click the SUBMIT button, the CUSTOMER CARE screen will open:

From here, if you click on the 'ACCESS MAGAZINE LIBRARY' link, you will be automatically sent to our online library, where you will have full access all the back issues of our magazine. You will be able to access, search, and build your own online library of your favourite issues and articles. You can also download PDF copies of any back issue.

You can also manage your account on the CUSTOMER CARE screen, by clicking on the "Change Address/Privacy Preferences" and "Change Email/Password" links.

To return to the Home page click on our logo at the very top of the screen.

I am a subscriber….How do I register for Customer Care?

Your email address and password will have been provided to you when you subscribed to the print magazine on-line. If you don’t remember your password you can enter the email associated with your account and request a password reset.

If have not yet registered an email with your subscription account you can do so by contacting our customer care team by email or by calling 1-800-204-1773. If you are registering by email, please provide your name and address, or customer number.

Why do I need to log-in again to update my address, when I am already a subscriber and logged in to the site?

This is because the Canadian Woodworking website database and the circulation database are not shared. It also provides an added security measure to ensure that no one else accesses your account.

What is the Magazine Preview link for?


This link is primarily for non-subscribers. When you click on the Magazine Preview you will be able to view up to 20 pages of a sample issue of the magazine. After 20 pages you will be prompted to subscribe, or if you are a subscriber, to log-in.

What is the Magazine Library link for?



If you are already logged in, this link will take you to our online library. If you are not logged in, this link will take you to the LOG IN screen (see above).Once logged in you will be able to see all issues in the library and on the site in full.

How is the FREE SAMPLE ISSUE different than the Magazine Preview or Magazine Library?


The FREE SAMPLE ISSUE link enables non-subscribers to request a one-time link that will enable them to view an online version of an entire issue of our magazine. We provide this service to help you decide whether you would like to become a subscriber. 


Can I add an EVENT, COURSE, CLUB, LINK, or VIDEO that is related to my business?

Yes, providing that it is woodworking related. All additions are screened by our web editor before they are added to the site.

What are your site's Privacy Policies and Terms of Use?

The links to these policies are at the very bottom of the home page. Note that by providing content to this site, you grant Canadian Woodworking & Home Improvement magazine unrestricted rights to use the content for any purpose, including, but not limited to, publishing the posted material, including images, in print or electronic form in a future issue or issues of Canadian Woodworking & Home Improvement magazine or related products, and to use the post for promotional purposes without further compensation, as well as the right to use the poster's name in a credit along with the post.

Is there an App so I can view this site on my mobile device?

Not at the present time, although we hope to have something available in the near future.


When will my first print issue arrive?

Watch for your first issue to arrive 4 to 6 weeks after you order it. If it does not arrive within this time frame please email our subscription service, or call 1-800-204-1773.

How can I find my Customer Account Number? 

Your Customer Account Number is located on your mailing label, just above your name.

What do I do regarding missing/ damaged/ duplicated issues?

If your issue is missing or damaged email our subscription service or call 1-800-204-1773. Our subscription office is open from 9 AM to 5 PM Atlantic Standard Time.

How do I change my mailing address?

Access our online Subscription Service.

How do I find my user name and password to access my online library on-line?

Your website user name is your email address. If you have not registered an email with your subscription account please email our subscription service, or call 1-800-204-1773 to do so. If you are making this request by email please provide your name and mailing address. Allow several days for this to be updated to the website.

I did not receive my online issue. What do I do?

Manage your subscription on-line, or call 1-800-204-1773 to confirm that your email is correct. If you are emailing your inquiry, please be sure to include your name and mailing address.

When do I receive renewal notices?

Renewal notices are sent out 4 months before your subscription expires with a special early bird renewal rate. You can check your subscription expiry date on your label.

What is your privacy policy and how do you use my mailing address?

Canadian Woodworking & Home Improvement is committed to maintaining the trust of our subscribers. The personal information that we retain is what is provided by you voluntarily. We use it to send you information about Canadian Woodworking and its products or to correspond with you regarding your subscription. If you are a subscriber we need this information to be able to deliver you our product(s) and service your subscription. Our intention is always to gather information that will help us serve you better and never to gather information without your knowledge. The links to these policies are at the very bottom of the home page.

Can I order back issues?

All back issues are available in a online format. However, there are a limited number of print back issues available. Visit our Back Issues page to browse back issues and order securely on-line, or call 1-800-204-1773.

How do I find projects from past issues?

To find projects from past issues, simply type in your search term(s) into the search field at the top of the homepage. 

What is the magazine subscription refund policy?

Canadian Woodworking & Home Improvement magazine will refund the value of all undelivered pre-paid copies. If you make a mistake processing your payment, we will reverse the credit card charges immediately. Please examine your receipt carefully to ensure that you paid what you intended, and notify us by phone (1.800.204.1773) IMMEDIATELY if there is a mistake.

If you wish to cancel your subscription midway through, a refund payment will be prorated at the per-issue price paid in advance, based on the number of issues remaining on your subscription. We do not require a reason for cancellation or any advanced notice. We only ask that you notify us by phone (1.800.204.1773) to cancel, and ask that you allow six weeks for refunds to clear our accounting department.

I am a subscriber; do I need to pay to become a member of the Forum?
No. Use of the Forum is free; you just have to register to use it.

Why do I need to register/login to use the Forum, when I am already a subscriber and logged in to the Canadian Woodworking website?
This is because the Forum is run by a ‘third party’ program. The Canadian Woodworking website database is not shared with the Forum database.


What newsletters do you publish?

We publish two FREE newsletters:

  • ShopNEWS is a montly newsletter packed with relevant and timely news of interest to the woodworker and DIYer, including: press releases from major manufacturers; notices of dealer events, special promotions; new product announcements; schedules and locations of woodworking courses; and lots more.
  • ShopTOOLS is an ocassional newsletter (4-6 times per year) that contains special offers from our corporte partners.

Is are Newsletters the same as the magazine?
No, the Newsletters are totally different than the magazine. The Newsletters one online only, delivered to your email address, and focuses on NEWS and EVENTS relevant to woodworkers and DIYers.
