Rockwell 20 Volt Brushless Portable Power Tools Now Include Drill-Driver, Impact Driver, and Hammer Drill

Charlotte, N.C. – Rockwell® continues its move into brushless motor technology as it expands its line of 20V MaxLithium brushless portable power tools to include a drill-driver, impact driver and hammer drill.

The Rockwell’s 20V brushless motors increases battery run time by up to 50 percent per charge over standard brushed motors.  The brushless motor has computer controlled power distribution, which improves motor efficiency and durability by reducing heat, friction and wear.  The brushless motor also features a 10-year warranty versus 3 years for brushed motors.

Brushless motors are more expensive to engineer and build due to their internal components.  These tools average 15 to 30 percent more than a comparable standard brushed motors. However, when factoring the tool’s longevity, durability, longer run time, and Rockwell’s Batteries For Life program, the real cost difference is marginal, making brushless tools affordable not just for the pros, but do-it-yourselfers too.

Dissect the internal workings of a Rockwell brushless tool and the first thing you’ll notice is the absence of carbon brushes, making these tools maintenance free. The new electrically commutated motor reduces noise, friction, heat build-up and wear for longer motor life. Precise internal software controls (smart chips) provide the electromagnetic current for the most efficient conversion of electricity into mechanical energy.  Since less energy is wasted, battery power lasts longer.

20V MaxLithium Brushless Drill-Driver

The Rockwell 20V MaxLithium Brushless Drill-Driver is compact and lightweight (3.4 lbs.) with battery).  Its compact size provides easy access in limited clearance areas.  The drill-driver has a short headstock and overmold on the back of the handle for a steady grip. The tool also is equipped with a belt clip to secure the tool when not in use.

The brushless drill-driver is powered by a 20V MaxLithium, 2.0 Ah battery for longer run time and high working efficiency. The battery also affords more charge cycles with minimal self-discharge.  The two-speed gearbox has no-load speeds of 0-600 and 0-2000. Its maximum torque is 531 in./lbs. The ½” metal chuck has 18+1 clutch positions to handle any number of drilling and driving jobs. The tool’s drilling capacity in wood is 1-1/2 in. and ½ in. in steel.

The Rockwell 20V MaxLithium Brushless Drill-Driver includes two, 2.0 Ah MaxLithium batteries, a one-hour charger and one, double-ended bit and soft bag for storage.

20V MaxLithium Brushless Impact Driver

With 1550 in./lbs. of torque at your disposal, this brushless impact driver is a serious deck building, assembly and remodelers’ tool.  It drives screws hard and fast in the densest materials all day.  It’s especially useful in repetitive work environments. It channels concussions to the screw, rather than the user’s wrist or forearm. Its compact size affords easy access into limited clearance areas.

Feature-packed, the brushless impact driver has a ¼ in. chuck and accepts ¼ in. hex-shanked bits. The driver has a speed range of 0-2900 no-load rpm and 0-3200 impacts per minute (ipm). The 3.2 lb. impact driver has an LED worklight that doubles as a low-battery-charge indicator when blinking. The LED light continues to stay on for a short period after the trigger is released.

The 20V MaxLithium Brushless Impact Driver has an overmold handle grip. The tool also is equipped with a belt clip that safely secures the tool to the user’s belt, when not in use.

The Rockwell 20V Max Lithium Brushless Hammer Drill features two no-load drilling speed selections of 0-600 and 0-2000 rpm.  In hammer mode, the tool provides ranges of 0-7500 and 0-24860 bpm (blows per minute).  The hammer drill’s maximum torque is 531 in./lbs.  Its ½-in. metal chuck has 18+1 clutch positions to handle a full range of drilling in various materials.  The tool’s drilling capacity in wood is 1½ in., ½ in. in steel and ½ in. in masonry.

The brushless hammer drill is compact, and lightweight at 3.9 lbs. Its design affords access in confined spaces.  Overmold on the back of the handle adds comfort and provides a sure grip. An LED worklight helps illuminate the work area.  The hammer drill also includes a belt clip for convenient storage.
