Voltage Detector Meets Demands of the Growing Building Automation Market

MILWAUKEE, WI- Milwaukee Tool continues to expand their Test & Measurement offering with  a new 10-1000Ṽ Dual Range Voltage Detector that meets the demands of a growing building automation market for units such as LED lighting, occupancy sensors, HVAC controls and security systems. By simply turning on the tool, the new unit will light up the work area, as well as detect and differentiate voltage systems under 50Ṽ that may have previously gone unnoticed.

“While the building systems market for units that operate on sub 50Ṽ has been on a major growth trend in recent years, the simple voltage detector has struggled to evolve with it,” says Corey Dickert, Director of Marketing, Product Management for Milwaukee Tool. “The Milwaukee 10-1000Ṽ Dual Range Voltage detector not only detects these systems, but does so in the simplest and most intuitive way on the market today.”
Delivering professional accuracy and functionality, the new Dual Range Voltage Detector is the easiest to use in its class. Once turned on, the product can be positioned near any wire carrying a current, and the user will be notified automatically if it delivers 10-49Ṽ or 50-1000Ṽ by different colored LED’s and audible beeping.

“Other voltage testers that carry this sensitivity range require the user to adjust dials or switch modes to detect low or extra low voltages. Having a single mode of operation not only makes this product simpler to use, but ensures the user will not overlook potentially dangerous electricity,” Dickert says.

Complete with a built in LED work light for low lit areas, a constant LED Power ON Indicator and Auto-off feature for increased battery life, the new Voltage Detector confirms Milwaukee’s commitment to provide innovative solutions to the end user that will increase productivity. The new units will be available in July of 2014.
